Position Summary

The role of the Certified Scrub Technologist reports to the RN, Clinical Coordinator, Unit Manager, and Director. This position serves as a member of the healthcare team and is under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse. This position is responsible for maintaining the integrity, safety and efficiency of the sterile field throughout the surgical procedure.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate from an accredited scrub technologist program.
• Licensure and Certifications: CPR required within 90 days. CST, required.
• Experience: Knowledge of and experience with sterile technique qualify the scrub to prepare and arrange instruments and supplies to facilitate the surgical procedure, required.

Work Environment

This position will spend 80% of time standing and/or walking while pushing, pulling, lifting, and/or carrying up to 50 lbs. This position will spend 20% of time sitting while performing work in a standard office environment. This position spends 100% of work time standing and/or walking short distances while frequently lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling up to 100 lbs. This position has exposure to body fluids, radiation and communicable disease. This position serves a culturally and linguistically diverse patient population
