Job summary

Pain Diagnostic and Treatment Center in Citrus Heights is seeking a Full-Time Surgical Scrub Tech to support the operating room team. You will help maintain a sterile environment, assist the circulating nurse, and ensure accurate counts and specimen handling during procedures.

The position requires approximately one year of scrub tech experience in multiple specialties, with strong familiarity of medical terminology related to anatomy and OR procedures.

Qualifications

• One year experience as a Scrub Tech in multiple specialties or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Able to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
• General familiarity with medical terminology as it pertains to anatomy and surgical procedures for an operating room.

Responsibilities

• Ensure sterility of all supplies and instruments during set up of surgical procedures.
• Assist circulating nurse and surgical team in maintaining a sterile environment.
• Assist circulating nurse in gathering necessary surgical supplies and equipment.
• Perform sponge, needle, and instrument counts pre-operatively and intra-operatively with the circulating nurse.
• Retain all specimens to be sent to pathology, confirming source/name of specimen with the surgeon.
• Use standard universal precautions, appropriate hand hygiene, personal protective equipment, and safe practices to ensure personal safety and a safe environment.
• Follow all equipment and safety guidelines and be responsible for knowledgeable use and care of equipment.
• Report to the Clinical Director/Administrator.

Salary Range: $38.03 – $47.54 per hour.
