Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 2–4 years full-time surgery scheduling experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication.
• Superior knowledge of coding guidelines and reimbursement schemes.
• Strong organizational and computer skills.
• Conversational knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to work independently and with a team.

Responsibilities

• Schedule outpatient medical procedures with provider and time/location.
• Request pre-operative clearances from PCPs.
• Submit bookings to outpatient Surgical Center.
• Provide patients with surgical paperwork and instructions.
• Explain test preparations and arrival times to patients.
• Educate patients on pre-operative instructions and medications while maintaining confidentiality.
• Deliver high level of service and patient experience.
• Achieve KPI targets and maintain surgical schedules.
• Verify insurance and obtain authorizations.
• Prepare all paperwork for the physician.
• Communicate with surgical facility and ensure all information is sent.
• Answer patient and PCP inquiries about surgery.
