Job summary

Concord Hospital Health System is seeking an organized coordinator to perform pre-operative interviews and schedule surgical procedures. You will work under the Practice Manager and with providers to arrange meetings and coordinate clinic, surgery and on-call schedules.

Experience in surgical coordination is preferred, with high school or GED as a minimum and an associate nursing degree being desirable but not required. This on-site role supports a collaborative hospital environment.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent (GED).
• Associates Degree (A.D.) and/or Diploma in Nursing is desirable, but not required.
• Minimum one year experience as a surgical coordinator in acute care/medical surgical setting.

Responsibilities

• Schedules and coordinates, with patient, family and facility, surgery or surgical procedures.
• Interviews and educates patient for surgery.
• Ensures accuracy of all procedures, paperwork, testing and appointments.
• Acts as primary resource for the surgical patient and the surgeon.
• Maintains relationships with outside offices, facilities and hospital departments.
• Assists with the coordination of provider, resident, office, surgical and on-call schedule where appropriate.
