Job summary

United Health Services in New York’s Southern Tier is hiring a Surgical Scheduler. Under the direction of medical providers, you will schedule surgical procedures in ORSOS, arrange pre- and post-operative appointments, and obtain authorizations to ensure timely patient care.

You will collaborate with the clinical team, hospital staff, and providers, requiring strong PC skills, medical terminology knowledge, and experience in healthcare and customer service.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Two (2) years' experience working in healthcare.
• Two (2) years' experience working in customer service.
• Proficient PC skills.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Knowledge of insurance referral process.
• Basic computer skills; HER, Excel, Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Schedule surgical procedures in ORSOS.
• Schedule all pre- and post-operative appointments.
• Obtain necessary authorization for procedures.
• Coordinate with clinical team, providers and hospital staff to ensure timely patient care.
