Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Surgical Scheduling Coordinator in New Jersey to manage OR scheduling, block releases, and coordination between surgeons, offices and hospital departments. The role emphasizes accuracy, communication, and timely updates to the EMR and Epic systems.

Candidates should have a High School diploma or GED, 2+ years in hospital registration/scheduling, and strong computer skills. Epic OpTime familiarity is preferred; a associates degree is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with hospital registration/scheduling experience.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google software is required.
• Epic OpTime knowledge is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule procedures based on surgeon privileges and monitor daily changes.
• Select patients from MPI in Epic to schedule procedures per protocol.
• Prepare and update OR and block schedules for daily publication.
• Communicate with surgeon offices regarding patient status for surgery.
• Document special requests in EMR and notify involved departments.
• Manage vendor coordination and schedule changes to maximize efficiency.
• Assist in environmental rounds and support during emergencies.
• Attend department trainings and maintain professional standards.
