Job summary

Avera Dermatology Minnesota Ave is seeking a scheduler/biller to perform pre-authorizations, verify benefits, coordinate referrals, schedule pre-operative physicals, and manage the surgery schedule while maintaining department documentation.

You will obtain information from physician offices, coordinate care across hospital and clinics, use telemedicine when applicable, communicate with physicians and staff, and maintain calendars and orders for procedures.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform essential job functions with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work with diverse teams.
• Visual acuity sufficient for scheduling and clerical duties.

Responsibilities

• Obtains physician orders/information for scheduling tests and procedures accurately.
• Facilitates planning of care with hospital and clinic departments and equipment vendors.
• Coordinates telemedicine where applicable to ensure continuity of care.
• Communicates information to physicians, staff and families in a professional manner.
• Assists with collection/maintenance of records to support compliance and quality.
• Coordinates scheduling of specialized equipment based on procedures.
• Maintains physician calendar, procedure schedule and coordinating orders.
