Job summary

Tenet Healthcare is seeking a Surgical Coordinator/Scheduler in Delray Beach to manage comprehensive pre-operative and post-operative scheduling for the assigned physician. You will coordinate surgery dates with patients and facilities, obtain referrals, and secure prior authorizations from payers as needed.

Ideal candidates bring 2+ years of surgical scheduling experience, a healthcare background, and proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as NextGen or Athena, plus strong Word/Outlook skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Requires 1-3 years of experience in Medical Setting, preferably in Physician Practice.
• Requires at least 2 years of surgical scheduling experience.
• Healthcare background is strongly desirable.
• EMR/EHR experience preferred; NextGen or Athena experience preferred.
• Proficiency in a Windows environment with Word, Outlook, and Internet.

Responsibilities

• Provide complete pre-operative and post-operative scheduling for the assigned physician.
• Coordinate scheduling of surgical sites and appointments for all physicians, aligning dates with patients.
• Obtain necessary authorizations and referrals from PCPs, specialists, and insurers.
• Ensure surgeon preferences are aligned with available resources.
• Demonstrate friendly, courteous, and helpful demeanor in all patient and colleague interactions.
