Job summary

UI Health's OCC Surgery Clinic in Chicago, IL, is seeking a Medical Office Coordinator to manage surgical schedules, coordinate pre- and post-operative activities, and liaise with Patient Accounts and other hospital staff. The role supports efficient patient flow and high-quality care in a busy surgical center.

The position is on-site, with a Monday–Friday 37.5-hour workweek and a salary commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of total experience from related categories or combination thereof.
• College education with coursework in business medical field or related areas, as outlined by the university conversion table.
• Illinois residency required within 180 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain surgical schedules and subspecialty calendars; update case lists.
• Triages calls and emails; provides information with discretion.
• Coordinate pre/post-operative appointments, referrals, and health records for clearance.
• Communicate scheduling requirements clearly to Clinicians and clinic staff.
• Prepare weekly surgery schedules and distribute to relevant teams.
