Job summary

Penn Highlands Healthcare is seeking a Surgical Scheduler to support physicians and advanced practice providers by obtaining all required authorizations for surgeries and scheduling procedures. The role includes preparing all items needed before the day of the procedure to ensure smooth operations.

The ideal candidate has strong administrative experience, CPR certification within the first year, and preferred certifications in medical assisting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; associates degree preferred.
• Knowledge & experience in payor authorization requirements preferred
• Prior administrative office procedures preferred
• CPR certification required within first year of hire
• NHA or NCCT Medical Assistant certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Support the physician or AP Provider to obtain all authorizations for surgery.
• Schedule the surgery and prepare all necessary items needed prior to the day of the procedure.
