Job summary

Veterinary Specialty Hospital (VSH) is seeking a full-time Veterinary Technician to join our surgery department. The role emphasizes anesthesia mastery, surgical assistance, patient care, and client education within a collaborative team.

Minimum 3 years in a progressive veterinary hospital with anesthesia focus; CA RVT credentialing is required. Compensation includes hourly pay with benefits and opportunities for growth within Ethos Veterinary Health.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ clinical experience in a progressive veterinary hospital with a focus on anesthesia.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written; organizational skills; proactive thinking and a positive attitude.
• Accuracy in calculating and delivering anesthetic agents, fluids, and CRIs.
• Proficiency in record keeping related to medical procedures including daily treatments, patient status, procedures, supplies, and anesthesia records.
• Review and understanding of all medical records pertinent to patient care.
• Comprehensive understanding and experience with anesthetic monitoring.
• Current or pending CA RVT credentialing is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia monitoring for a variety of procedures and patients.
• Assist doctors during surgeries and patient prep.
• Perform venipuncture and IV catheter placement.
• Maintain sterile technique and assist with abdominal explores, orthopedic and laparoscopic procedures.
• Educate clients and provide exceptional nursing care.
• Keep accurate anesthesia and treatment records for each patient.
• Be available for on-call, holidays/weekends as needed.
