Job summary

Veritas Veterinary Partners is seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician to join the Surgery & Anesthesia team in California. You will perform surgical nursing, anesthesia induction and monitoring, and post-operative care for a range of specialty procedures in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Active California RVT license (or ability to transfer).
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Veterinary Technician.
• Experience in surgery and anesthesia required.
• Comfortable monitoring ASA III+ patients.
• Strong understanding of anesthetic agents, equipment, and monitoring modalities.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced surgical setting.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs and assist with team lifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform all essential duties of a Registered Veterinary Technician with a focus on surgery and anesthesia.
• Prepare surgical suites, equipment, and instrumentation for a variety of procedures.
• Induce, monitor, and recover patients under anesthesia for routine, advanced, and high-risk surgical cases.
• Provide comprehensive anesthetic monitoring, including ECG, blood pressure, capnography, pulse oximetry, temperature, ventilator settings, CRIs, and blood gas measurements.
• Accurately calculate, administer, and manage anesthetic and analgesic medications.
• Assist surgeons before, during, and after surgical procedures.
• Maintain sterile technique and assist with surgical scrubbing, gowning, and gloving.
