Job summary

Harlingen Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Surgery department. The role involves direct patient care through the surgical experience, collaborating with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the team to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes during all perioperative phases.

The position requires an active state RN license, BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications, with perioperative experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license required.
• BLS (AHA) certification required on hire and maintained.
• ACLS (AHA) certification required within 30 days of hire and maintained.
• PALS (AHA) certification required within 30 days of hire and maintained.
• Minimum one year perioperative experience or on-the-job training.
• CNOR certification preferred.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Circulating duties, patient positioning, and maintaining accurate documentation and counts.
• Coordinate patient care with surgeons and anesthesia providers.
• Maintain sterile environment and support infection prevention and safety standards.
• Educate patients and families and protect privacy and confidentiality during perioperative care.
