Job summary

Harlingen Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse with perioperative experience for full-time day shifts in the Surgery department. The role involves circulating, patient positioning, sterile technique, and close collaboration with surgeons and anesthesia providers to ensure safe, high-quality care throughout the surgical process.

Qualifications include an active RN license, BLS, ACLS, PALS, and ideally CNOR and BSN.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS (AHA) certification on hire and maintain.
• ACLS (AHA) certification within 30 days of hire and maintain.
• Current PALS (AHA) certification within 30 days of hire and maintain.
• Minimum of one year perioperative experience or equivalent on-the-job training.
• CNOR certification preferred (AORN).
• BSN degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Circulating duties and patient positioning during the surgical procedure.
• Maintain sterile field and assist in infection prevention and safety standards.
• Coordinate patient care with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and team.
• Document accurately and maintain surgical counts.
• Provide patient and family education and protect privacy.
