Job summary

Overland Park Regional Medical Center is seeking an experienced registered nurse to join our perioperative team. You will evaluate patients before surgery, educate families, and prepare patients for procedures, including IV therapy and medications.

You will follow universal protocol and participate in time-outs to ensure patient safety. You will work with surgeons, technologists, and a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care and document changes in patient condition

Qualifications

• RN license required
• Nursing diploma or equivalent
• BCLS within 30 days of start date

Responsibilities

• Assess patients prior to surgery or procedures
• Provide patient and family education about procedures and perioperative process
• Prepare patient for surgery including IV therapy and preoperative medications
• Participate in surgical site verification, time-out, and universal protocols
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care with evidence-based practices
• Be part of a dynamic interdisciplinary team
• Document patient condition and care thoroughly and accurately
