Job summary

Overland Park Regional Medical Center in Overland Park, KS is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for OR duties. You will evaluate patients pre-op, educate families, and support surgical teams to ensure patient safety and efficient workflow.

This role offers a $10,000 sign-on bonus for eligible experienced RNs, with self/preferential scheduling, and a culture of collaboration. Must hold RN diploma and BLS; one year nursing experience required; OR experience not required.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in good standing.
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum one year of nursing experience; OR experience not required in surgery setting.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients preoperatively.
• Educate patients and families about procedures.
• Assist with preoperative medications and site verification.
• Participate in surgical site verification, briefings, time-outs per hospital policy.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care within evidence-based practices.
• Be an integral member of an interdisciplinary team.
• Apply nursing process, critical thinking, and leadership to deliver safe care.
• Assess patient condition, monitor changes, and document care.
• Educate patients and families about medical conditions, treatment and follow-up.
