Job summary

Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, MO, is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Operating Room to support patient care in a fast-paced surgical team. You will evaluate patients pre‑op, educate families, and assist with preparation and site verification.

You will join an interdisciplinary team, participate in safety protocols, and help drive evidence-based practice and continuous improvement. On‑call may apply and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (US) within jurisdiction
• BLS certification within 30 days of start date
• RN Diploma or ADN/ASN degree required

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery
• Provide patient and family education about procedure and perioperative process
• Prepare patients including IV therapy and preoperative medications
• Participate in surgical site verification and universal protocols
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care
• Be part of an interdisciplinary team in the OR
• Apply nursing process and clinical judgment to deliver safe care
• Monitor patient condition and document changes
• Educate patients and families about condition, treatment, and follow-up
