Job summary

Desort is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join its surgical care team. The role provides direct operating room support, assisting surgeons, maintaining sterility, and ensuring high-quality patient care.

Candidates with pediatric surgical or perioperative experience are encouraged, as the position involves caring for pediatric patients in cardiac/perioperative settings.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Minimum of 3 years of RN experience in a surgical or perioperative setting.
• Prior First Assist experience required; pediatric experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of surgical anatomy, physiology, and operative techniques.
• Excellent communication and patient education skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide intraoperative assistance to surgeons during surgical procedures.
• Conduct pre-operative assessments and family education.
• Maintain compliance with infection control and safety standards.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and evaluate patient care plans.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and recovery.
• Support operating room workflows and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
