Job summary

SSM Health in Jefferson City, MO, is seeking an RN first assistant for the Operating Room. The position requires RN licensure, RNFA education or equivalency, CNOR certification, and two years of advanced surgical RN experience. BLS HCP is required.

Full-time daytime schedule in the Surgery department. Primary duties include positioning patients, assisting with visualization, achieving hemostasis, and wound management under the guidance of surgeons.

Qualifications

• RNFA program completion or RNFA equivalency.
• Two years of RN experience in an advanced surgical specialty.
• BLS HCP certification as required in MO/IL/OK/WI.

Responsibilities

• Position patient to optimize exposure for surgery.
• Assist visualization by manipulating tissue and instruments.
• Help achieve temporary and permanent hemostasis.
• Assist with wound closure and drainage setup.
• Apply current evidence-based nursing practice per department scope.
• Maintain alertness and safety during procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
