Job summary

Candidates must hold a CA RN license with CNOR/BLS/ACLS within one year, complete RNFA training, and have at least two years perioperative RN experience; BSN/MSN or enrollment preferred.

Qualifications

• CA RN License CNOR BLS ACLS within one year of hire/transfer.
• Completion of recognized RNFA training program.
• BSN, MSN, or currently enrolled in RN‑BSN program.
• At least two years of perioperative RN experience, scrub and circulating preferred.

Responsibilities

• Essential RN First Assistant.
• Assists on all surgical procedures as directed by the surgeon.
• Functions as the first assistant at surgery in general and obstetric suites.
• Assists with intraoperative tissue retraction, hemostasis, and manipulation.
• Uses instruments and sutures to assist; wound closure.
• Preoperative counts, OR setup, patient positioning, and transfer to OR bed.
• Interoperative scrubbing, draping, and participation in counts as needed.
• Postoperative dressings and OR turnover; document observations and care.
