Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System seeks an experienced Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) within the Ohio Nurse Practice Act. You will provide advanced surgical assistance, assist in exposure, tissue handling, suturing and hemostasis while maintaining patient safety and high-quality perioperative care.

You will collaborate with the team to plan and implement care for surgical patients, document care accurately, and stay current with safety indicators in a magnet-recognized environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate from school of nursing.
• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.
• Bachelor's degree completed.
• CNOR certification.
• RNFA course and internship per AORN for RN First Assistant programs.
• Minimum 2 years of diversified OR experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care and promotes patient safety and evidence-based practice.
• Collaborates with patient and family to develop and implement a holistic care plan.
• Communicates pertinent information to team members in a timely manner; documents assessments and outcomes.
• Demonstrates surgical instrument handling, suturing, hemostasis and other OR skills; ensures specialty items are procured and staff trained.
• Stays current with quality and safety indicators for the perioperative department.
