Mount Carmel Health System in Ohio is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide patient care in the OR within the scope of the Ohio Nurse Practice Act. The RN First Assistant collaborates in teamwork, handling advanced surgical assisting tasks and ensuring patient safety throughout procedures.

Competenze

• Graduate from school of nursing.
• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Current CNOR certification.
• Completion of an RNFA course and internship that meets AORN criteria.
• Minimum 2 years of diversified OR experience.

Mansioni

• Provides nursing care, ensures patient safety, promotes evidence-based practice and quality initiatives, and maintains professionalism in nursing within the ANCC Magnet model.
• Assesses and evaluates patient care for an assigned group of patients; collaborates with patient and family to develop and implement a plan of care with physical, spiritual and educational components.
• Communicates pertinent information to team members in a timely manner and keeps patient/family apprised.
• Documents accurately and completely pertinent assessments, interventions and outcomes per standards.
• Assumes responsibility and accountability for care provided and documented by others as appropriate.
• Demonstrates skills: manual dexterity with surgical instrumentation, hemostasis, electrosurgery, bipolar cautery, sponging, clamping, suturing, knot-tying, stapling, cutting, ligating vessels, skin closure, and sub-cuticular closure.
• Procures specialty items for procedures and conducts staff training on those items.
• Stays current with quality and safety indicators for perioperative department.
