Job summary

Mercy St Louis Hospital is seeking an RN First Assist in the Main Operating Room on a PRN basis. The role focuses on perioperative nursing care and collaboration with a multidisciplinary surgical team in a Level I Trauma Center.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Active RN licensure in the state of practice.
• Minimum of 1 year perioperative nursing experience.
• BLS/ACLS certification within first year.
• Demonstrates continued competence in assisting perioperative nursing.
• CNOR certification and/or RN-First Assistant certification class preferred

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care.
• Maintains professional accountability for patient care for assigned patients.
• Coordinates patient care with other departments.
• Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.
• Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers.
• Performs duties in alignment with Mercy mission, values, and Service Standards
