Job summary

Mercy Hospital Washington is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN – First Assistant to deliver perioperative care, coordinate patient care with other departments, and lead junior staff. This full-time role includes a $20,000 sign-on and comprehensive day-one benefits.

Minimum 2 years intraoperative experience as scrub/circulating nurse; RN license in Missouri required; CNOR/RN-FA certification within 1 year. BSN preferred; salary set with strong shift differentials.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Missouri.
• Minimum 2 years intraoperative experience as scrub and circulating nurse; 3+ years preferred.
• BLS/ACLS required within 1 year of hire.
• CNOR and RN-First Assistant certification required within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care with other departments in the OR.
• Lead and evaluate other caregivers to ensure patient safety.
• Uphold patient rights and confidentiality.

Position Overview

The Operating Room RN – First Assistant utilizes the nursing process to deliver exceptional patient care while maintaining professional accountability for assigned patients. This role includes:

• Coordinating patient care in collaboration with other departments

• Providing leadership, guidance, and evaluation of other caregivers

Qualifications

Licensure:

• Current RN Temporary Permit or RN License in the State of Missouri

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of intraoperative experience as both scrub and circulating nurse
• 3+ years preferred

Certifications

• BLS/ACLS – required within 1 year of hire
• CNOR & RN-First Assistant certification required within 1 year
• Preferred Certifications: CNOR, CRNFA

Education

• BSN preferred
