Job summary

UTMB Health seeks a Nurse Clinician II (RN) for the Surgery (Inpatient Unit) on day shifts. Must have six months of RN experience or successful probationary NC I completion, and hold a Texas RN license with current BLS. Provides bedside care, medication administration, patient education, and care coordination following UTMB policies.

Role focuses on professional practice, patient safety, documentation, and collaboration with the health care team to meet unit goals and standards of care.

Qualifications

• RN with six months of clinical RN experience and/or successful completion of probationary NC I period documented on nursing evaluation tool.
• Must possess and maintain a current Registered Nurse license or valid permit to practice in Texas.
• Current BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Performs nursing care with assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Administers medications and treatments per physician orders and UTMB policies.
• Delivers culturally competent nursing care and uses Teach-Back to ensure patient understanding.
• Coordinating care, documenting accurately, and collaborating with inter-professional team.
