Job summary

UTMB Health seeks an Advanced Beginner Clinician RN to provide patient care in line with the Texas Nurse Practice Act and UTMB policies. Requires six months of clinical RN experience or completion of probationary NC I, and a current Texas RN license with BLS.

The role covers nursing processes, medication administration, and documentation, focusing on safety, education, and interdisciplinary collaboration within the unit. Night shift, full-time position.

Qualifications

• RN with at least six months of clinical RN experience or completion of probationary NC I period documented on nursing evaluation tool.
• Must possess and maintain a current Registered Nurse license or valid permit to practice in Texas.
• Current BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and documents daily patient care.
• Identifies nursing diagnoses and develops individual care plans; revises as needed.
• Executes physician orders; administers medications and treatments; delivers competent nursing care per UTMB policies.
• Provides patient/family instruction using Teach-Back methods and evidence-based resources.
• Plans, coordinates, and prioritizes patient care activities; maintains safety and continuity of care.
• Demonstrates ethical practice, advocacy, and culturally congruent care; supports a healthy work environment.
• Participates in unit meetings, quality improvement, and lifelong learning activities.
