Job summary

SSC Beverly Hills Brighton is seeking an OR-nurse professional to ensure patient safety during surgeries and advocate for patients throughout the operative process.

Responsibilities include verifying consent, coordinating communication among surgical team, anesthesia, and PACU staff; maintaining OR workflow; documenting intraoperative details; and preparing the room with aseptic technique and the surgeon’s preferred equipment.

Qualifications

• Associates or better in Nursing required or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred or higher.
• Licenses: ACLS and BLS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains patient safety and advocacy during the surgical procedure.
• Verifies patient consent and surgeon orders with the surgical team and preop/PACU nurses.
• Coordinates safe and effective communication among the surgical team, anesthesia providers, surgeon and other departments.
• Maintains a smooth and efficient workflow in the Operating Room.
• Documents intraoperative vital signs, medications, supplies and implants.
• Preps the patient using aseptic technique and supports sterile field.
• Sets up the Operating Room with equipment and sterile supplies per surgeon’s preference card.
• Demonstrates knowledge of surgical procedures, sterile technique, and patient safety protocols.
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment handling multiple needs and resolving issues promptly.
