Responsibilities

• Maintains patient safety and advocacy during surgical procedures.
• Verifies patient consent and surgeon orders with the surgical team and PreOp/PACU nurses.
• Coordinates safe and effective communication between the surgical team, anesthesia providers and other departments.
• Documents all intraoperative workflow including vital signs, medications, supplies and implants.
• Preps the patient using aseptic technique and assists in maintaining the sterile field.
• Sets up the Operating Room with equipment and sterile supplies per the surgeon's preference card.
