Job summary

Adventist Surgery Center at National Harbor is seeking a Registered Nurse with perioperative experience to join the OR team as a Circulator. This full-time, day-shift role supports surgeons and staff in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.

Responsibilities include preparing the OR, documenting care, administering medications per protocol, and educating patients pre- and post-operation. Valid RN license and BLS/ACLS are required, CNOR/PALS preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current RN licensure in state of employment.
• Two (2) years perioperative services experience and/or training, preferred.
• BLS certification.
• ACLS certification.
• CNOR certification, preferred.
• PALS certification, depending on patient population, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promotes the mission, vision and values of the organization.
• Adhering to Universal Precautions; maintains confidentiality of patient and Center related business.
• Obtains and documents nursing history from patients and/or significant others.
• Prepares the patient for the procedure and handles the preparation of operating room before the surgery.
• Records vital signs, notes changes, and provides technical assistance to surgeons.
• Performs interventions to ensure correct site and infection prevention.
• Manages specimens and works with the healthcare team to assess patient needs.
• Documents patient care services by charting in records.
• Conducts pre- and post-operative education for patients and families.
