Job summary

WellSpan Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the 2 East Surgical unit in Chambersburg, PA. This 30-bed unit focuses on surgical patients including orthopedics, urology, and bariatric cases.

An individualized orientation with experienced preceptors supports clinical skill development within the Med-Surg environment. The role offers a full-time schedule of 72 hours biweekly with 12-hour day shifts and every third weekend.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current RN license in Pennsylvania.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates safe medication practice.
• Maintains a professional image consistent with health care role.
• Completes chart checks to prevent missed orders.
• Transcribes physician orders accurately.
• Demonstrates therapeutic communication with patients and families.
• Assess patients and tailor education using available resources.
• Participates in staff meetings and in-services for area.
• Leads nursing process with accountability for outcomes.
• Advances care through supervision and teaching of staff.
• Responds calmly to delays and provides alternatives when needed.
