Job summary

WellSpan Health in Chambersburg is seeking an RN for the Short Term Observation Unit (13-bed). You will monitor and assess patients to determine discharge or admission, with an individualized orientation program and ACLS/EKG support provided.

Full-time 0.9 FTE (72 hours biweekly) with night shifts 7pm–7am and every third weekend; eligible for shift and weekend differential. The role emphasizes safe medication practice, accurate charting, and collaborative care in a fast-paced, specialty unit.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required; BSN preferred.
• Evidence of participation in educational programs to update and maintain current knowledge and clinical skills.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates safe medication practice.
• Transcribes physician orders accurately.
• Performs 12-lead EKGs and basic dysrhythmia interpretation.
• Provides patient education and discharge planning.
• Maintains professional image and participates in staff meetings.
• Responds to emergencies and maintains IV therapy as needed.
