Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to support surgical procedures. You will ensure the presence and proper arrangement of equipment, assist the surgeon in the operating room, and help with turnover and specimen handling as part of a cohesive surgical team.

The role requires a High School Diploma/GED, NBSTSA CST certification, Basic Life Support, and ongoing CEUs. A minimum of 1 year in a Skilled Technologist role or equivalent is expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (NBSTSA) required.
• Basic Life Support certification required.
• 17 continuing education units annually required.
• Preceptor training or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and arrange surgical equipment, supplies, and instrumentation.
• Assist surgeon in the operating room as allowed by standards.
• Ensure turnover of the operating room and proper processing of specimens/equipment.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, RNs and other surgical staff.
