Job summary

Indiana University Health in Indianapolis seeks a Surgical Resource Technologist to ensure proper arrangement of surgical equipment and instrumentation, and to support the surgical team before, during, and after procedures.

This role requires NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist, Basic Life Support, 17 CEUs annually, and completion of the perioperative preceptor training. You will help maintain sterile field and assist the surgeon as allowed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (NBSTSA).
• Basic Life Support Certification.
• 17 continuing education units annually.
• Perioperative Services Preceptor training or equivalent preceptor modules.
• Minimum 1 year experience as a Skilled Technologist or relevant roles.
• Ability to resource to staff using advanced technology and knowledge of instruments.
• Knowledge of name and function of surgical equipment and instrumentation.
• Adherence to sterile field policies.
• Completion of Advancement Process requirements.

Responsibilities

• Ensure presence and proper arrangement of surgical equipment and supplies in the OR.
• Assist the surgeon and the surgical team during procedures as allowed.
• Oversee turnover of the OR and processing of specimens, instruments, and supplies.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, RNs, and other staff as part of the team.
