Job summary

IU Health Methodist in downtown Indianapolis is seeking a Surgical Resource Technologist to support the operating room team before, during, and after procedures. This evening shift role requires on-call availability and holiday coverage as part of a critical care surgical services team.

The successful candidate will hold NBSTSA certification as a Surgical Technologist, Basic Life Support, and at least one year of related experience, with strict adherence to sterile technique and a strong

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Certified Surgical Technologist (NBSTSA) required.
Basic Life Support certification required.
17 CEUs annually required.
Perioperative Services Preceptor class and/or related training required.
Minimum 1 year experience as Skilled Technologist or related.
Knowledge of surgical instruments and advanced technology in cases.
Adherence to sterile field policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

Provide service and support before, during, and after surgical procedures.
Ensure proper setup and arrangement of surgical equipment, supplies, and instrumentation.
Assist the surgeon in the operating room as allowed by standards.
Support turnover of the OR and processing of specimens, equipment, and supplies.
Work as a team member with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and other surgical staff.
