Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health seeks a Physician Assistant for the Surgical Specialty - Non-Operative. A licensed PA with NCCPA certification will provide direct patient care, including pre- and post-operative management, in surgical settings and diverse specialties.

The role emphasizes independent provider activities, prescriptive authority, and collaboration with supervising physicians across inpatient and outpatient services.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited PA program.
• Texas PA license and NCCPA certification.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire or transfer.
• Less than 1 year of clinical experience is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Assess the physical and mental condition of patients and obtain histories.
• Order, collect, interpret labs and diagnostic tests.
• Prescribe or recommend medical therapies and treatments.
• Develop and implement patient treatment plans with supervising physicians.
• Counsel patients on medications, nutrition, and health maintenance.
• Maintain records and coordinate referrals as needed.
• Provide care in inpatient, outpatient, or emergency settings.
• Perform procedures within scope of practice as delegated.
