The Surgical PA Service at Northern Dutchess Hospital is seeking a board-certified, full-time Physician Assistant to join its hospital-based team. This role focuses on OR first assist coverage and perioperative management across general surgery, with exposure to multiple subspecialties and opportunities in DaVinci robotic cases.

Responsibilities include OR first assisting, rounding with the surgical team, admissions and consults, night coverage from home, and floor procedures.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program and NCCPA certified.
• Surgical experience of 1–3 years preferred; new graduates considered.

Responsabilités

• OR first assisting for general, plastic, spine, bariatric and OB/GYN cases.
• Rounding on general surgery patients with attendings/residents.
• Managing admissions and consults for general surgeons.
• Night coverage from home; first assisting emergent OR cases and admissions.
• Floor procedures such as NG tube, wound care, bedside I&D.
• Cross-coverage with Vassar Brothers PA services as needed.
