Qualifications

• Master of Science degree required.
• Pathologist Assistant II degree and certification (ASCP) or eligible for certification.
• Illinois license for MD/DO in anatomical pathology acceptable if enrolled.

Responsibilities

• Performs gross examination and dissection of surgical biopsies and large specimens.
• Assists with intra-operative consultations; prepares cryostat slides.
• Maintains specimen integrity and documentation; supports residents in Surgical Pathology and Autopsy procedures.
• Participates in education of pathology residents and medical students; contributes to conferences.
• Ensures safety and proper use of laboratory equipment and supplies.
