Qualifications

• Master’s degree from a NAACLS-accredited Pathologists’ Assistant program.
• Current Pathologists’ Assistant certification through ASCP (PA(ASCP)) required.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Pathologists’ Assistant in a hospital-based surgical pathology laboratory; autopsy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform gross examination, description, dissection, and tissue sampling of surgical pathology specimens under pathologist supervision.
• Dictate accurate gross descriptions and cassette summaries per CAP protocols and departmental standards.
• Prepare frozen sections and assist pathologists with intraoperative consultations.
