Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, or physical sciences; NYSED registration or equivalent.
• Advanced certificate in clinical laboratory technology with licensure at graduation.
• NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist License or Histology Technologist/Cytotechnologist; ASCP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of Histology, IHC, Cytology labs and morgue, ensuring quality and regulatory compliance.
• Hire, discipline, train, evaluate performance, and make personnel recommendations.
• Promote growth through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations for quality improvements.
• Develop operating and capital budgets; monitor variances and prepare monthly reports.
• Assist in vendor negotiations for equipment; evaluate supplies and instrumentation purchases.
• Review documentation to ensure accuracy and adherence to quality standards.
