Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Golden Valley, MN is seeking a Pack Room Veterinary Assistant to join our fast-paced Surgery Department. You will assist veterinarians with surgical planning, prepare packs, and help discharge patients.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assemble surgery, procedure, and treatment packs according to hospital standards.
• Clean, inspect, and package surgical instruments and equipment for sterilization.
• Operate and monitor autoclaves and other sterilization equipment to ensure proper processing.
• Maintain accurate sterilization records and logs in accordance with hospital policies.
• Stock and organize surgical supplies, instruments, and consumable inventory within the pack room.
• Monitor inventory levels and notify leadership of low-stock items or supply needs.
• Ensure all packs and supplies are properly labeled, dated, and stored.
• Perform routine quality checks on instruments to identify damage, wear, or missing items.
• Assist with cleaning and disinfecting equipment and work areas to maintain a safe and sanitary environment.
• Follow infection control, OSHA, and hospital safety protocols at all times.
• Collaborate with technicians, assistants, and veterinary staff to ensure procedural readiness.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient pack room environment.
• Help ensure all specialty departments have the necessary sterile instruments and supplies available for patient care.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support hospital operations and patient care.
• Ensure all necessary instruments, equipment, and supplies are available and properly set up for scheduled procedures.
• Coordinate with clinical teams to maintain efficient case flow and minimize procedure delays.
• Assist with room preparation and breakdown before and after procedures while adhering to infection control standards.
