Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Physician Assistant for the Barnabas Health Medical Group's CBMC Transplant Nephrologist department in West Orange, NJ. The APP provides perioperative care for renal transplant and other surgical services, collaborating with surgeons and the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, efficient care from pre-op to post-op.

Requirements include a Master's degree from an ARC-PA program, NJ PA license, NCCPA certification, and 3–5 years of surgical PA experience.

Qualifications

• Masters' degree from an ARC-PA accredited PA program.
• New Jersey PA license required.
• Three to five years PA surgical experience required.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive pre-operative, post-operative, and admission assessments.
• Assist surgeons during operative procedures and perform delegated surgical tasks.
• Manage post-operative patient care including daily rounds and wound care.
• Evaluate changes in patient condition and respond to emergencies.
• Order, interpret, and coordinate diagnostic testing and therapies as delegated.
• Prescribe medications and coordinate discharge planning and transitions of care.
