Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Physician Assistant (Full-Time, Day shift) for the CBMC Transplant program in New Jersey. The role supports perioperative care across general surgery and renal transplant, collaborating with surgeons and a multidisciplinary team.

The APP will perform pre- and post-operative assessments, assist in operations, and manage continuity of care while ensuring patient safety and evidence-based practice.

Qualifications

• Requires NCCPA certification and active New Jersey PA license.
• Prescription authority and DEA eligibility required.
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive pre-operative, post-operative, and admission assessments.
• Assist surgeons during operative procedures within scope of practice.
• Manage post-operative patient care including rounds, planning, wound care, and monitoring.
• Evaluate changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate interventions.
• Order, interpret, and coordinate diagnostic testing and therapies as delegated.
