Job summary

Holy Cross Hospital in Maryland seeks a Part-time Physician Assistant II (PA-2) PRN who can serve as First Assistant in the operating room across multiple service lines and perform postoperative assessments under physician supervision. The PA-2 PRN works in a team structure and coordinates with hospital departments to ensure optimal patient care.

The role requires MD licensure in Maryland, PANCE/PANRE, CDS/DEA prescriptive authority, and a minimum of 2 years of surgical PA experience.

Qualifications

• ARC-PA certified PA program graduate.
• Pass PANCE and PANRE as applicable.
• Current Maryland PA license in good standing.
• Prescriptive authority (CDS/DEA) eligible.

Responsibilities

• First Assist in the OR for at least 4 service lines and perform postoperative assessment and management with physician supervision.
• Provide surgical assistance for at least 2 specialties and 2 complex cases; obtain Davinci First Assist Certification.
• Conduct daily postoperative rounds; admit/history, H&P, progress notes, discharge summaries, and orders as directed.
• Perform bedside procedures (e.g., incision and drainage, central line, A-line, chest tube) when credentialed.
• Precept PA students and new graduates.
• Support quality initiatives and compliant billing within Holy Cross Hospital.
• Ensure timely, accurate documentation and adherence to policy.
