Northwell is seeking a Physician Assistant to support pre-operative and post-operative patient care. The role includes taking histories, performing exams, and communicating care plans for smooth surgical workflows.

Responsibilities include daily rounds, ordering labs and meds, interpreting results, and coordinating discharge instructions with the care team. OR duties as first assist are also included in the scope of practice.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree; ARC-PA accredited program graduate.
• Licensed Physician Assistant (LPA) in New York.
• Current NCCPA Certification.
• Current BLS certification.

Aufgaben

• Takes initial patient histories and performs physical examinations; develops and communicates the plan of care with follow-up.
• Performs daily patient rounds; writes orders for medications, labs and diagnostic tests.
• Interprets laboratory results and coordinates with physicians, residents, nursing staff and other care providers; notes discharge summaries and referrals.
• Informs patients of post-discharge care instructions; supports related duties.
• OR duties; first assist.
