Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of AMA-recognized PA training program and MA licensure.
• ACLS is required; ATLS is preferred.
• 3–13 hour shifts per week in a general surgery setting.
• PA practices under supervision of a licensed physician, with medical staff oversight.

Responsibilities

• Write admission notes and histories for general surgery patients.
• First assist in the operating room for general surgery and subspecialties.
• Perform rounds, exams, and order labs and tests as needed.
• Perform procedures such as chest tube management, drainage, and catheter care.
• Provide patient education and contribute to resident and trainee education.
• Ensure compliance with safety and documentation standards.
