Job summary

McKay Dee Surgical Center is seeking an OR Technician to join the surgical team. You will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and report to Surgical Services management, ensuring a safe operative procedure and maintaining a sterile environment.

The role involves participating in the surgical operations safety plan, assisting the surgeon during procedures, and preparing the OR and instruments. Training and at least one annual educational offering are expected.

Qualifications

• Active National Certification as an OR Tech in Surgery or Certified Surgical Technologist is required after hire.
• Certification must be obtained within the timeframe outlined by NCCT/NBSTSA.
• Experience with sterile processing and OR turnover is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and ensure the sterile field and operating room meet sterilization criteria.
• Prepare the operating room and instruments for procedures; assist the surgeon during procedures within the OR Tech scope.
• Assist with room turnover, cleaning and readiness for the next procedure after completion.
• Participate in training, mentoring, and provide at least one educational offering per year.
