Responsibilities

• Reads operating room schedule, anticipates needs, and sets up for cases.
• Facilitates room turnover and prepares room, equipment, and anesthesia components.
• Sets up, inventories, and restocks anesthesia and specialty carts.
• Inventories and maintains departmental supply stock.
• Assists in lifting, turning, positioning, and preparing patients for procedures.
• Transports blood or specimens to the laboratory.
• Escorts patients and families throughout the hospital.
• Maintains hallways and equipment areas in order and compliant with fire codes.
