Job summary

Children's Healthcare of Atlanta is hiring a Surgical Equipment Technician to support the operating room by applying and operating specialized surgical equipment, and assisting with maintenance.

The role requires four years hospital experience and two years in the OR; an associate’s degree in healthcare and BLS certification within 30 days.

You will collaborate with leadership, inventory equipment, and participate in performance improvement and vendor coordination.

Qualifications

• Minimum four years in a hospital setting.
• Two years working in an operating room.
• Familiarity with surgical equipment maintenance and repair.

Responsibilities

• Operate and support specialized surgical equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment during procedures and perform preventive maintenance.
• Educate staff on safe operation and troubleshooting.
• Coordinate with Clinical Engineering and vendors for maintenance.
• Support Joint Commission readiness and capital budgeting processes.
• Maintain equipment inventory and documentation.
