Job summary

Jersey City Medical Center is seeking an OR Tech I to join the Operating Room team. The position reports to the surgical staff and works with surgeons and RNs to support patient care before, during, and after surgery.

Candidate must have an OR technician training program completion, strong scrubbing skills across multiple service lines, and 2–3 years of experience, with excellent communication and independent work capability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an OR Technician training program.
• 2–3 years of experience in an OR setting.
• Must scrub across service lines: robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic, trauma.

• Assist surgical team under RN direction during perioperative care and surgery.

Pay Range: $31.41- $38.42per hour

Pay Transparency:

The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey.

The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

A member of the surgical team, acting under the direction of a Registered Nurse, who works with the surgeon and RN in delivering patient care and assuming appropriate responsibility before, during and after surgery.

Qualifications:

Required:

• HighSchooldiplomaorequivalent
• Completion of an OR Technician training program
• 2 – 3 years of experience
• Must have strong knowledge with skill being able to scrub the following service lines: robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic cases and trauma
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbally and written)
• Must be able to make calls. Must be flexible, able to multitask and be able to work independently

Certifications and Licenses Required:

• Certified Surgical Technician, required
• NBSTSA Certification, required
• Current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification required with American Heart Association

Scheduling Requirements:

• 3:00 pm – 11:00 pm
• Full Time
• Alternating Weekends, holidays and call coverage
