Job summary

Jersey City Medical Center is seeking an OR Tech I to join the surgical team under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will assist the surgeon and RN before, during, and after surgery, ensuring sterile technique and readiness of instruments.

The ideal candidate holds a high school diploma, completed an OR technician program, 2–3 years of experience, and NBSTSA certification with BLS. The position requires multitasking, strong communication, and readiness for evening shifts in New Jersey.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an OR Technician training program.
• 2–3 years of experience in an OR setting preferred.
• Must scrub across service lines including robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic cases and trauma.

Responsibilities

• A member of the surgical team, under the direction of a Registered Nurse, delivering patient care before, during and after surgery.

Location: Jersey City Medical Center
Status: Hourly
Shift: Evening
Pay Range: $31.41- $38.42per hour

The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview

A member of the surgical team, acting under the direction of a Registered Nurse, who works with the surgeon and RN in delivering patient care and assuming appropriate responsibility before, during and after surgery.

Qualifications

• Required:HighSchooldiplomaorequivalent
• Completion of an OR Technician training program
• 2 - 3 years of experience
• Must have strong knowledge with skill being able to scrub the following service lines: robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic cases and trauma
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbally and written)
• Must be able to make calls. Must be flexible, able to multitask and be able to work independently

Certifications and Licenses Required

• Certified Surgical Technician, required
• NBSTSA Certification, required
• Current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification required with American Heart Association

Scheduling Requirements

• 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm
• Full Time
• Alternating Weekends, holidays and call coverage
